LGBTQ youth visit the Kansas statehouse

Today in the Senate Education Committee, Equality Kansas executive director Thomas Witt and community outreach director Liz Hamor will deliver testimony in opposition to SB 208, a bill banning transgender and gender non‑conforming children from participation in school sports and other school activities.

The hearing is scheduled for today, February 23 at 1:30pm, in Room 144-S of the Kansas Statehouse.  We have heard a large number of opponents wish to appear before the committee, so our time will be very limited.

You may tune in to the hearing from home.  Youtube video is available at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_0NO-Pb96CFABvxDwXAq8A, or you may listen via the Kansas Legislature’s website at http://sg001-harmony.sliq.net/00287/Harmony/en/PowerBrowser/RoomRouter?location=144-S&viewMode=1#handoutFile_.
