Our Spirit Day T-shirts are going to print this week and will soon be available for purchase, so stay tuned; the cost will be $15, sizes XXL or larger, $20.
Wichita Pride will be Sunday, September 29, and we will be participating. Sam Bass will be taking his rainbow-colored train. Those who are not able to walk the one-mile parade course will be able to ride in the train. Those who are able to walk, help is needed carrying flags; many people are needed. Arrive at the Historic Sedgwick County Courthouse at Noon on the 29th. Following the Parade will be the Festival, held at the Indian Center (where the Parade ends). Help is needed for Equality Kansas` Booth at the Festival, as well, where we plan to do voter registrations. Those who wish to skip the parade but want to help take voter registrations during the Festival, please arrive at the Indian Center from 1-1:30 and look for Equality Kansas` Booth. Parking is available to the public in the parking lot across Seneca Street from the Indian Center. If you have questions, please call Chad Graber at 663-8002.
October 04, Friday, is our local NAACP Chapter`s annual Banquet. Chris Snyder will be having a table this year and has purchased a block of tickets for any who would like to attend. Those interested in attending please call Chris at 620-257-2937.
September 24th, returning for a second lecture on bullying is Lt. Schillaci. Several attended Lt. Schillaci`s lecture at the Cosmosphere months ago on Bullying, and he is returning to be part of the Ray and Stella Dillon Lecture Series on September 24th, 10:30 am, Stringer Fine Arts Center on the HCC Campus.
